JUSTIN DEIMEN

Group Managing Partner & Head, Aurora Capital

Justin leads Aurora’s development, production, and investments across genres and formats. He executive produced the 2019 movie STORM BOY, starring Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush and SUICIDE SQUAD actor Jai Courtney, and the 2019 Indochinese arthouse genre-buster THE LONG WALK. Previously, he worked for Hyde Park Imagenation, VH1, Fox Searchlight, The Village Voice and the International Film Festival Rotterdam before returning to Singapore to produce award-winning broadcast documentaries and feature films with a global perspective. He has since worked with UBS and Pictet & Cie to structure viable alternative asset funds for media projects for various platforms and philanthropic causes. He co-founded the Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association (SAAVA), a non-profit network seeking to unify media producers, creative entreprenuers, and investors around ASEAN, and is a member of the EAVE network of European producers. He co-founded the Southeast Asian Film Financing (SAFF) Forum, the region’s biggest media financing platform that engages and educates stakeholders from the creative and financial sectors to develop modern modes of entertainment financing.

TERENCE KONG

Group Managing Partner & Head, Lifestyle Concepts

Terence brings extensive advisory experience and a sterling reputation from his background in financial services. He has held key roles in developing, implementing and supervising distribution strategies for financial products in Singapore and Southeast Asia. His producer credits include the feature film STANO, a collaboration with the iconic New York Yankees baseball franchise directed by Sundance winner Raymond de Felitta, and the Swiss-Indian arthouse feature film THE SONG OF SCORPIONS, starring Cesar nominee Golshifteh Farahani. An alumnus of the Anglo-Chinese School and Raffles Institution in Singapore, his business interests also include the restaurant “Momma Kong’s” (tabbed by Lonely Planet to have Singapore’s best chilli crab) and the bistro “3O1 Bar & Kitchen” (which he owns with CRAZY RICH ASIANS actor and incorrigible good guy Pierre Png). This veteran of the entertainment scene brings a distinctive edge to Aurora’s identity, influenced by his youth spent bartending in the gritty urban underbelly. In his free time, he enjoys going sailing with his kids and taking his jacked-up Landrover into Southeast Asian jungles.

JEREMY SIM

Group Managing Partner & Head, Aurora Mediatech XLabs

Jeremy enjoys disruptive convergences between content and technology. He is concurrently creative director at the social impact investor Mistletoe, with an investment portfolio ranging from medical drone delivery networks to mixed reality technologies. He most recently executive produced the 2019 feature film STANO, a collaboration with the New York Yankees directed by Sundance winner Raymond de Felitta; and is developing XLabs prototypes for the artificial intelligence powered media visualiser aiMAGE and the transtech infrastructure Joy.AI. Previously, he was head of knowledge management at Asia’s largest financial intelligence firm, responsible for clients including the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. Before that, he was lead project manager for Nordic Europe’s industrial innovation network, serving anchor institutions such as Innovation Norway and the Helsinki School of Economics. He received a 2007 Creative Talent Award from the Singapore government, and was a Thayer Scholar / Phi Beta Kappa at Purdue University, and a contributor to “Making Money, Making Meaning: Directions for the Arts and Cultural Industries in the Creative Age”, published by Cambridge Scholars’ Press
